What’s trending this week!
UAR” – This week; precisely on the 2nd of June, 2021 a tax consultant; Adeleye Jokotoye, submitted an interesting proposal. The subject of the proposal was to change the country’s name to; “United African Republic” This proposal was submitted to the special committee of the House of Representatives. While presenting he said and I quote; ” Nigeria’s current name was an imposition of it’s past colonial masters and should be changed. “At this crossroads in our history, it is mandatory that we change our name to reflect a new beginning which will be ushered in with a new constitution. He also gave an alternative; United Alkebulan Republic
The interesting thing about this proposal was the reaction the general public had. My own question is that would it be UAR at 1 next year ??🤣

Twitter ban/ Suspension – Yesterday; the 4th of June 2021, it was announced that the Federal Government of Nigeria suspends Twitter operations in Nigeria. This tweet was announced on the The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture official Twitter handle. As you would imagine Nigerians aren’t taking this issue lightly at all. #VPN #TwitterSuspendBuharisAccount #TwitterBan So Twitter are all the hashtags that provide all the information.

Twitter deleting President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet – Just recently the President of Nigeria tweeted at his official handle; ” Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand. We are going to be very hard sooner than later.” On Wednesday Twitter deleted the tweet saying it violated Twitter rules. Again Twitter was flooded with celebrating Nigerians.
Honestly what would Nigeria without Twitter be like?
