Easter in Lagos

Like any other holiday in Nigeria, Easter is a big deal. Not only for its spiritual importance, but for the fact that it is another thing to look forward to every year. Easter is usually full of Traffic. 

Like Christmas, New year’s traffic is unbelievable. For a place that could take you thirty minutes, you could take two hours. Because everyone wants to go out to church services, malls, amusement parks the roads are packed. But Easter comes with benefits. It gives a few days to take a rest from school and work because it’s a public holiday. It’s the time everyone wants to buy clothes for easter gifts. The same goes rides, games, gifts and movies. I particularly love Easter because I get to go out or spend quality time eating and having fun with family. Easter for me is associated with food which I love, and food is everywhere so it’s definitely one my favourite holidays. 

Some things you could do during Easter

1. Going to the mall: I particularly like going to Ikeja City mall, because it’s filled with a lot of things to see and a very nice place to shop.
2. Going to restaurants: Meals and snacks are a must during Easter and there are a lot of options to choose from; whether it’s just a couple of snacks and drinks to a buffet.
3. Holidays and vacations: There are many places to have a nice holiday. You could go to resorts like; Lekki Conservation Centre, Whispering Palms in Badagry.
4. Spending time with family: This is one of my favourite things to do. Because it’s not only my siblings, it’s time with my uncles, aunts and cousins all in the same place, eating incredibly delicious food and having fun and playing games.
